Return of the Natives (RON) Restoration Education Project
Established in 1992 as the education and outreach branch of the Watershed Institute of CSU Monterey Bay, Return of the Natives (RON) Restoration Education Project is a school and community based environmental education program, which works to protect the waters of Monterey Bay by involving students and adults in native plant restoration projects. Each year, thanks to RON, at least 3,000 school children, 200 college students, and 500 community volunteers propagate and out-plant more than 50,000 native plants at restoration sites. In addition to coordination of field trips to these sites, RON's core program includes teacher trainings and construction of native plant gardens and greenhouses. Don't miss the chance to join RON at two March restoration events: Saturday, Mar 13 (10 am-1 pm) at Upper Carr Lake in Salinas AND Saturday, Mar 27 (10 am-1 pm) at Locke-Paddon Community Park in Marina! For additional information on RON events and resources, visit http://watershed.csumb.edu/ron/ or contact Emily Smith at (831) 582-3687, ESmith@csumb.edu. REI will donate to RON the net proceeds from the Banff Mountain Film Festival screening on Mar 5 at the Golden State Theatre in Monterey.

This group will be fun and very informative. Suggested minimum donation, $5, but not the first time. Come and see first if this will be of interest to you. Also no one turned away for lack of funds. Please, come and participate or just listen to everyone else.

Complimentary Investing Workshop
Take control of your investments as a ProActive Investor. It doesnÃ?Â't matter whether you actively manage your portfolio, or trust a financial advisor to do it for you. This FREE Ã?½ day workshop will show you how to improve profit potential and reduce risk as a ProActive Investor. Most advisors and investors follow the herd. They hop onto trends too late - and they miss out on profits and increase their risk as a result. The ProActive Investor leads the herd. They get in at a safe point and buy from a novice investor who sells as the market is about to make a turn. Which investor would you rather be? In this workshop, you'll learn: How to enjoy true portfolio diversification - and protect against the dollar's decline - through foreign currency investments, futures and more. The two common mistakes of every inexperienced investor - and how to avoid them. How actively managing your portfolio can make your retirement savings last longer. Not ready to fire your advisor? We'll show you how to make them accountable and deliver a dynamic investment plan. Register Today!click here

Show me the numbers! - Analyzing active lisitngs to determine cash-flow reality.
At this meeting we'll dive directly into the heart of the matter. We'll spend much of our time analyzing Active Listings for cash-flow, expenses, and cash-on-cash returns. This is where the rubber meets the road; just how good of a deal are these Foreclosures? The numbers don't lie! Bank-owned properties are still the best opportunities out there. With a down payment of as little as $10k, in some cases, the returns can be phenomenal. We haven't seen these cash-flow opportunities in the Bay Area in more than 20 years. And the positive cash-flow is just half of the equation. Then there's the fact that you can pick-up these homes for as much as 50-80% off the price you would have paid at the peak of the market, just a short time ago. As always, we will analyze a few properties that are currently available on the market. If you have a specific property or property location youÃ?Â're interested in let us know. Give us a call a couple of days before the meeting with the details and weÃ?Â'll run the numbers for you. March meeting topics include: 1. Detailed Ã?Â"Current Market AnalysisÃ?Â" and all the numbers! 2. We'll analyze several Active Lisings for cash-flow numbers. 3. Property Management and itÃ?Â's challenges 4. Fieldtrips are a reality check. Get off the sidelines and participate! 5. How to beat the Competition and close the deal. 6. Review new law changes that effect Real Estate Investors Tired of hearing about all of the great deals out there? Want to go take a look at them yourself? We offer a Bank-owned Properties Fieldtrip approximately twice a month. We'll view 6-8 properties. All will pencil out with strong cash-flows, with some performing better than others. All properties are hand selected with Investors in mind. We'll bring our Handyman/Contractor with us for his professional advice. He'll be able to give us rough estimates of what it might cost to rehab some of these properties. Having estimates on site is a real eye opener for many people. And of course we will have Dina available for all your Financing questions. As always, this is a relaxed environment, geared toward education, that ultimately will lead to increased profits by learning to reduce risk and exposure. Let's make sure we do it right the first time! Feel free to bring your family, partners, and friends. to sign-up for our "Bank-owned Field-trip Group" visit us at: http://www.meetup.com.... Our next Field Trip will be February 27th. or visit our website at: http://goldengateteam.... Give us a call with any questions [masked] Eddie and Dina Franich

Backpacking New Mexico's Gila Wilderness
Thanks to the efforts of environmentalist and nature writer Aldo Leopold, the U.S. Forest Service created the nation's first wilderness area in 1924. Known as the Gila Wilderness, this spectacular region of southwestern New Mexico now includes 558,014 acres of high plateau, laced with deep canyons, carved by the Gila River-the last, large free-flowing river in the Southwest. Join veteran backpacker and fisherman John Tuma for a digital presentation on his week-long, 50-mile backpacking trip in this remote wilderness. As John introduces you to the natural features and wildlife of the Gila's mesas and canyons, he'll give you pointers on gear and resources to help you plan your own Gila adventure. Please note: Registration is optional for our free in-store presentations. If you register, you will receive an email reminder and any program updates.
