Dance Prism, New England’s Premier Professional Touring Ballet Company. Auditions are open to trained dancers age 7 through professional adults. Dancers who are seriously interested in being considered for the Touring Cast should attend this audition rather than the regional cast auditions. There are No Fees to audition, for costumes, or for performances. No studio affiliation is required.

The Nutcracker Ballet: The ballet takes the audience on a magical journey with Clara and her Nutcracker Prince as they travel from a traditional 19th century Christmas party through a fantastic battle of toy soldiers and giant mice led by a menacing Rat King who battles the valiant Nutcracker Prince. The journey continues through the ethereal kingdom of Snow, finally arriving in the Land of the Sugarplum Fairy where sweets from all lands come to life and dance in Clara’s honor.
The Production: Dance Prism’s “The Nutcracker” is a fully staged and executed professional ballet production featuring a cast of 140 dancers. The cast of professional and student dancers come from as many as six states to perform in the production. The production features lively choreography, hundreds of colorful costumes, and scenery that includes a miraculous Christmas tree that grows before your eyes, falling snow, and a sleigh drawn by white reindeer.
Following the performance, young audience members are invited to meet Clara and the Nutcracker Prince.

Alan Yost will conduct the Concord Chamber Ensemble and Chorus in a concert performance of Gilbert and Sullivan's Trial by Jury. Also on the program is the Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 by J.S. Bach. On a lighter note, the ensemble will perform three satirical pieces by P.D.Q. Bach (aka Peter Schickele). They include a comical cantata, Iphigenia in Brooklyn; a madrigal, "My Bonnie Lass She Smelleth; and the Schleptet in E-flat Major." Tickets are $25, with proceeds supporting the operating expenses of the Concord Orchestra.
